Summer… short and sweet, by rain shanti

August 25, 2014 By rain shanti

Short and sweet because, hey, we are busy around here during summer time! For us summer started with a wonderful cob oven workshop. It’s great to have the oven and to have the cob bench that’s attached to it. All of us on the land here appreciate everyones’ hard work during the workshop, and the oven has seen much use since then! Spring 2014

April 13, 2014 By Dan Antonioli

Spring is in full bloom early this year! After record cold winter temperatures we are witnessing the flip side to what many believe is climate change. Winter 2014

Fall 2013

November 22, 2013 By Dan Antonioli

Summer flew by at the Laytonville Ecovillage and there was little time for website updates and social media! Work-traders made substantial improvements to the land, particularly in the garden and solar shower. All but one of our baby chicks matured into healthy laying hens and we’re gathering 8–12 eggs a day. New tenants have moved onto the land and we are now six adults and four children. Our newest member, “kitty,” is a stray that has adopted the Laytonville Ecovillage as her new home.

September saw an early rain and while Fall has been dry there are mushrooms popping up everywhere. The roundpole workshop allowed us to finish the structure protecting the cob oven and bench (see pics).
